The Cordial Consort performs songs by female songwriters from the 'long' nineteenth century - including Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn - together with pieces by female guitarists including Catharina Pratten and a flute sonata by Anna Bon. The musicians will use Romantic-era instruments, and many of the songs appear in the eponymous book (with accompanying CD) written by Patricia Hammond.
