Rioplatenses are two Argentinians and one Uruguayan united by a passion for the rarely performed, beautiful repertoire of Argentine folklore and music from the Rio de la Plata region, blending the tango traditions of Buenos Aires with the candombe rhythms of Uruguay.
They began their journey together back in 2006 (20 años no es nada!), and since then they have performed extensively in festivals, events, jazz and world music venues in London and across the UK, and helped to put the music of their part of South America on the map.
After a long impasse, they have decided to come together and recreate their favourite material from previous albums (A Route to the Roots and The Blue Hour), as well as some exciting new repertoire.

Guillermo Rozenthuler (Arg) is a vocalist and guitarist based in London. Currently more focused on Vocal Improvisation with his a cappella ensemble Anthropos, since 2000 he wove together South American music and Jazz with his project, Rioplatenses, and also in collaborations, albums and tours with the Orient House Ensemble, Tango Siempre, Tina May, Edward Simon and many others. As a tango vocalist, he has released records with the London Tango Orchestra, Tango Siempre, Walton Van Duinen and Sexteto Cristal.
Javier "Chino" Fioramonti (Arg) is a guitarist and bass player with a strong interest in Latin music. He has studied Tango and Folklore with living masters of these styles such as Lucho Gonzalez and Anibal Arias. He is currently the composer/arranger and MD of his own project,The Mantecas. His playing is very rooted rhythmically and at the same time emotionally engaging. He has toured extensively over the UK and Europe with Salsa Celtica, and performed with well- known Latin artists like Henry Fiol, Azuquita and Maelo Ruiz.
Andres Ticino (Uru) is a percussionist from Montevideo with an orchestral background, active in Latin American and jazz-influenced music. He specialises in cajón and Afro-Rioplatense rhythms, and has performed internationally in a range of projects spanning tango, folklore, and contemporary jazz alongside many UK jazz musicians, including Trish Clowes, Ross Stanley, John Crawford and Pete Churchill's London Vocal Project.
