News from friends abroad

Christmas and the New Year brought happy memories of the Vivar family: Jun and Kelly and their two daughters, Katya and Michaela (Mika), who worshipped with us several years ago when Jun’s work brought him from the Philippines to London. Not long after their return to Manila, they made the move to live in Vancouver.

Kelly’s Christmas message included news of a huge project they have run for eight years with help from fellow church members. The annual "Christmas hamper project" runs from mid-November through mid-December, delivering hampers to 150 families. The coordination and shopping, which Kelly and Jun mostly do, sound exhausting! Kelly’s comment:

"If ever there is stress at this season, it is the good kind of stress as we look outward more than inward...and really just letting others know we are celebrating God’s love this season. And no matter how small our gesture is, we don’t forget friends like you at Heath Street and how happy we are to share the joy of the season with you. We think about you and Hampstead Heath with great fondness. We miss you and hope we can visit again soon."
